To add a Vendor:
- The Vendor module is used to maintain your referral partners, such as real estate agents, financial planners, and builders as well as companies you work with during the loan process including appraisers, lenders, and title companies Each Vendor represents an individual company with multiple contacts. For instance, if you work with an appraisal company that has two appraisers and an office manager, you would add a single Vendor with three Vendor Contacts. If you are working with multiple referral partners at a single office you may want to add each referral partner as a separate Vendor to allow you to track Categories and Status values separately for each individual you work with at that company. This method provides more flexibility for your referral partner marketing efforts. Typically each individual referral partner is added as a separate Vendor with a single Vendor Contact, while other Vendors such as appraisers or title companies are added as a single Vendor with multiple Vendor Contacts.
- In the vertical menu bar, select the Main section, and then click the Add Vendor icon.
- Enter the Vendor information. The Company field has a bolded caption indicating that it is a required field and must be entered in order to add the Vendor record.
- The Owner field is optional and refers to which user at your company is assigned to this Vendor record. This does not refer to the actual owner of the company itself.
- You may also add individual Contacts related to this Vendor at this time:
- Click the Add button to the right of the Vendor Contact grid at the bottom of the screen.
- Enter the individual Contact information in the add row at the top of the Vendor Contact grid.
- Click the OK button to save your new Vendor Contact or click the Add button again to Add additional Contacts for the Vendor.
- Click OK.
- The Vendor Detail screen for the newly added Vendor will be opened and you can edit or add additional data on this screen.
