How do I create a new email (HTML) template?

To Create a New E-Mail (HTML) Template:

    1. In the Toolbar, click on the Utilities section, and then select File Explorer.
    2. In the Folder pane, navigate to the folder that you would like to store your template in.

    3. In the File Actions pane, click New file.
    4. In the New File Window, drop down the New button and select HTML.
    5. Enter a file name in the File Name dialog box, click OK.
    6. Enter Keywords that will help you to search for this file at a later date (not required).
    7. Enter a Description for the file (not required).
    8. Select a Data Source.  A data source must be selected in order to have the ability to merge client and vendor data into the document (i.e., customize the letter to say ‘Dear John’ rather than ‘Dear Borrower’).  Each data source will list a different set of fields that are available to be merged with the document.  For a standard e-mail to be merged with client data, select Standard Client Merge Letter.  For a standard e-mail to be merged with vendor data, select Standard Vendor Merge Letter.  Click here for a complete list of fields in each data source.

    9. Click OK to close the New File Window.
    10. A blank HTML document will be displayed. Create your web template in the HTML Editor.  To enter merge fields, put your cursor at the location in the document that you would like the merge field located and then select a merge field from the Insert Merge Fields drop down box.
    11. To insert an image into the HTML template, the image must first be uploaded into the file system.  Once an image has been uploaded into the file system, it can be easily included in any web template.
      1. To import an image that has NOT been imported into the file system:
        1. Click the Insert Image button to display the Select Files screen.
        2. Click New file in the File Actions pane.
        3. Click Browse in the New File screen.
        4.  Locate the image that you would like to import. Click Open.
        5. Click OK to close the New File screen.
        6. Highlight the image file in the grid in the Select Files screen and click Select.
      2. To import an image that already exists in the file system:
        1. Click the Insert Image button to display the Select Files screen.
        2. Locate the image that you would like to import and highlight it in the file grid.
        3. Click Select.

    12. When you have finished editing your template, click OK to close the HTML editor.
